Field Recording Garden Birds

I’ve been making demo videos for my Verdi microphones recently and I had the idea to try and record wing beats and subtle bird sounds in the garden. I set the microphones up next to the feeder, attached my camera with a long cable into the computer and sat in the shed for two hours. Here is what happened:

I’ve got a theory that birds operate much faster than humans so their senses and reactions are sped up to the human ear. I think because they process information much quicker so their reality is much slower than ours. It makes sense when you listen to bird song slowed down. It carries a-lot more information and emotion and almost sounds like voices. Check out the recording below slowed down to around 20%.
